There is one song that somehow relates to me. Well not only me but together with my husband. "You're still the one" by Shania Twain. :) Reason is, before we got married, we had to go through a long distance relationship. That lasted 4 years. His friends, my friends, his mom thought it would be better to just find someone else. But hey we made it.Heh, don't mean to be mushy. :) What's your song?
Have you ever watched this British reality show series before? Nowadays, nearly everyday I'd be able to watch this. Not all though, because my daughter would be screaming since we can only watch her shows.
Anyway, about this show. 2 ladies, Kim and Aggie will go and check out peoples' houses. Of course by invitation. You can't imagine how filthy some of these houses! Imagine never cleaning a single thing for 20 years! They will bring in a team of cleaners and clean these filthy houses. They check to amount of bacterias in the house. Some of them have millions and some even have quite dangerous kinds of bacterias. I am not a clean freak, but come on.... can't even wash your own plate after eating? Can't even put the tissues that you used in the plastic bag and put them outside for the garbage collector to collect? I just wonder whether they even bathe! I believe these people would be long dead in the middle ages due to very very very poor hygiene.
Here's 1 part of a particular episode where this lady didn't clean the house for 20 years.
What kind of video do you watch online? This is a question from a fellow blogger in socialspark. Well, if ever I watch online videos I usually would check out youtube.com, because most of the time the videos I was seeking for would be there. I usually watch music videos and other videos that you don't get to watch on everyday tv channels. Living in Hungary where everything is translated to Hungarian, I'm thankful for online videos.
Besides that, when ever I would like to buy a product, I watch video reviews. Video reviews in my opinion are so much better because you can see to what the reviewer is referring to when he or she is reviewing a certain product. Both my handphone and my latest mp3 player are bought after I watch reviews on products which I was considering to buy. The videos helped me a lot in making my final decision.
Example of videos that I can watch through youtube which I don't think I would be able to watch anywhere else is this one.
Mamula moon or in this Indonesian version, "Terang Bulan.". Mamula moon is originally a Hawaiian song which later translated into Indonesian. The first Prime Minister of Malaysia eventually loved that song, he decided that the Malaysian National anthem should adopt the rythym.
This is a Hungarian traditional folk dance. I don't know much about Hungarian dance. But I think this is interesting. My dear husband I think knows a few steps. LOL
And here is the Hungarian gypsy dance.
This is a Malaysian traditional dance. It is called a Zapin. Originated from Johor. The southern state of Malaysia.Where I came from. :D The kids are really cute. I really love this traditional dance. They have many types of zapin. Some of them are quite graceful. Bonnie would definitely learn this. :D
While watching some sesame street clips on youtube with my daughter,(We can only watch Hungarian version on tv that's why we watch online for the english version)I found this video. The electric company opening credits. I grew up watching sesame street and electric company.(I still watch sesame street LOL) Though Sesame street is an on going show but I don't see The electric company anymore. When I saw this, oh my, sure brings back the childhood feeling. These two programs were my favourites of all favourites as a child! Besides Smurf that is. I saw Morgan Freeman on the Electric co. He acted in kids show before he became one of Hollywood big stars! I love Morgan Freeman. Maybe he brings back the good feeling because he acted on the Electric co. :D I sure miss being a kid sometimes. LOL
Have you ever heard of Paul Potts? He's the winner of 2007 Britain's Got Talent competition. A show equivalent to the the American Idols in the US. One of the judges was Simon Cowell too. If you ever watch American Idols you would know what kind of a character Simon is. Take a closer look at him in this video. LOL
The judges were really skeptical at first. Perhaps, the thing that was running in their minds were, "Oh my God... opera? He can't be serious can he?? Now here we go for an embarrassing situation." But I suppose jaws dropped that night, listening to the voice of Paul, a handphone salesman singing the "Nessun Dorma".I have seen this video for more than 20 times I guess, not all at once though. I still get the goosebumps and teary eyed when ever I watch it.
I support breastfeeding. I breastfed my daughter for 10 months or so. Not so much compared to many but that's how much I could give. But for 8 years? isn't this taking things a bit waaaay tooo far?? I don't think I would want my child to hang on my breast until she is 8 years old. This is really strange. How can she still produce milk even after all those years?
Besides Bambi, one other Disney cartoon scenes that never failed to squeeze tears out of my eyes is a scene from Dumbo. The scene where Dumbo visits his quarantined mother. The song was a heart melter! And seeing Dumbo missing the mother so much... Being a mother myself I really understand how it feels if I can't even see my child.Really couldn't help myself but cry.
Here's a video I found on you tube. An edited video with scenes from Dumbo and song version by Bette Midler.
Baby mine, don't you cry Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine Little one when you play Don't you mind what you say Let those eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear, baby of mine If they knew sweet little you They'd end up loving you too All those same people who scold you What they'd give just for The right to hold you From your head to your toes You're not much, goodness knows But you're so precious to me Cute as can be, baby of mine
he can write a love song from the fact that there are 9 million bicycles in Beijing. And made it sound so good too. :) The song was written by Mike Batt and sung by Katie Melua. One of my current favs right now.
Hmm, 9 million bicycles in Beijing eh? The population of whole of Hungary is 10 million about. So the ratio is like 9 out of 10 Hungarians would have a bicycle. :)I would have a bicycle too. :D
If you are a youtuber like me I suppose you must somehow heard of happyslip. She is a fillipino who currently lives in the US. Well, that much I know about her. Another thing I know is that she is way creative and hillarious. I really enjoyed her youtube channel. My favourite is the Morning Meest. LOL
I can watch this over and over and it still managed to crack me up every time. "The meest? you're scared of the meest??" Boy that cracks me up. ROTFL.
In Hungarian the title is 'kukucska kalandjai' which means (a direct translation of what little hungarian I know) Little peekaboo's Adventure. An anime both my daughter and I enjoy watching. So cute opening music... Bonnie and I only sings the "kuik, kuik, kuik" and the "au,au,au" part. LOL . Kawaii... ;)
I just saw this today. The girl is Kelly Pickler. One of the American Idol season 6 contestants. The only season of AI that I ever watched.
Talk about being dumb... Europe is a country??? Is she pretending or really dumb as she sounds like? And Hungarians speak French???? Is French a country??? I really don't know whether to laugh or cry for pity.
I did this video sometime back last month. A compilation of pictures and videos of my little daughter. Something that would have seem impossible nearly 11 years ago when we first had our long distance relationship.
When you see the video clip below you'll know what I mean.
You see this lady who drove right into the water was already informed that there was a pipe crack, and told not to drive through. See, what stubborness or plain not listening can cause?
Further going into the water afterwards... What was she thinking??!! Funny yet I don't know whether to laugh or not cause it's sure is a pitiful sight too.
It happened in Malaysia a few years back. Quite a long time ago. But I do remember the story went something like this. There was an old chinese man who rode on a bicycle. He was riding quite fast and he saw a puddle of water. Assuming that it was shallow he just went through and what do you know, it turned out to be a very very deep "pothole". Yes, he had to be taken to the hospital and get several stitches. So people if you see a puddle, ( yeah I know it's fun sometimes to drive through water :) ) never assume that the water is shallow.
