I've been blogging for a few years now and also have a personal website that I have abandoned a long time ago. Yet I consider myself a total ignorant on web designing. Especially, when nowadays to get nice looking layouts like the one I'm having now (I assume it is nice) all you have to do is download the .xml files or wordpress theme files and upload it to the blogging platform and voila you're set to go. I recall all the hair pulling and teeth gnashing I had to do before .xml files were around. All those CODES just gave me headaches and heartaches. Who ever created .xml files, bless you!
Despite the fact that it is a lot easier now we all still make mistakes when it comes to web designing. You have great contents yet the way you setup your site just scares your readers away. Due to tonnes of ads, font size and colour just barely readable, and music widgets!! ( sorry to say, I hate music widgets that plays automatically on blogs most of all. I did it when I was a beginner but saw how annoying it was). So for those who are rather new to web designing and need to clarify to the do's and don'ts of webdesigning, I'd suggest you take a look at web design for idiots main page website tutorials website - webdesignforidiots.net
