If I ask that question to the Hungarians here they'd either say, "eewww" or "what is that?". When I first introduced my husband to Peanut butter and jelly (jam) sandwich, he didn't like it. He'd asked me how could I eat that. Gosh it's one of my favourite grub!
Peanut butter is quite a new product to Hungary. I've only seen peanut butter sold in Tesco at the the foreign products section. That too only recently. I doubt they had peanut butter sold here 4 years ago.
I almost felt a little pity for those who never knew how good peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes like. LOL But hey, can't blame them. Peanut butter is still foreign to them, as it is foreign to me to eat Liba zsir or Goose ghee spread on bread. Well, actually that's what my Hungarian father in law always asked me to try, telling me at the same time of how delicious it tastes. Errr.. no thanks.
P/s: Check out what I've just read about eating peanut butter here. Yikes!
