Balaton part 1.

On Saturday, we left at about 6 pm for Balaton. I was told it was about 150 km from our place and it took us about one and a half hours drive. We got lost for nearly half an hour because we couldn't find the Holiday Club Füred, the place where were going to stay at.

It was not a hotel, but apartment. Our apartment was on the first floor, right in the middle, facing the swimming pool. We had our own small kitchen which was connected to the living room. There was a microwave, an electric stove, a fridge, and kitchen utensils. The apartment could fit 4 people actually. So, despite the fact that we were on holiday, I still had to cook and clean up. LOL But it was fun still. Not the same like cooking at home since I was not obligated to cook complicated food.

The lake has a length of 77 km and a width ranging from 4 to 14 km. So around the lake there are towns. We were at BalatonFured.



The first day, we went to visit an aunt of dh. She just moved to Balaton end of last year. I would say, she made a great decision, because the air is so much better than in Budapest, the weather is nicer, and the lake! That evening we went for a walk at lake Balaton. True indeed. It looks like a sea.

The kids had a jolly good time feeding the swans and the ducks. We even bought a half kilo bread just for feeding them. They would even come and take the bread off your hand.

I love the clouds here. They looked so huge and beautiful.
